Richard Max Pennington
September 24, 1922 – May 26, 2013

Max Pennington Photospacer.gif VISTA -- Richard Max Pennington, age 90 years, died on Sunday, May 26, 2013 at this home surrounded by family.

Born Sept. 24, 1922, in Barboursville, W. VA, he joined the US Navy and served as a Corpsman in both WWII and the Korean Conflict. After retirement from the military, Max became a Firefighter and later EMT with the Camp Pendleton Fire Department.

Max married his loving wife of 66 years, Ethel McCune on February 21, 1947. Max is survived by his three children and their spouses: Betsy and Fred Swanson, Bonnie and Dennis Sprouse and Bill and Lenelda Pennington; plus six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m., on Friday, May 31, at the First Christian Church, Oceanside. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to one's favorite charity.

Max Pennington was a member of Chapter 706 for many years. He, and wife Ethel, often attended our chapter meetings and annual Christmas lunch.
