John J. Goulding Photospacer.gif John Goulding, 92, died on Monday, November 10, 2014.

John was born and raised in Astoria (Queens), NY and worked for Trans World Airlines (TWA) as a passenger agent prior to being inducted into the army in 1942. As an infantry sergeant during WWII, he was awarded the bronze star for heroic achievement. After graduating from Fordham University with a B.S. in mathematics, John began working at White Sands Missile Range (NM) as a civilian mathematician and computer programmer. Following his career, which included support for space and defense missions, John retired and later moved with his wife, Edith, to Oceanside, CA in 1990.

John was married to Edith for 54 years until her death in 2005. He is survived by his sister Anna Johnson and his 7 children – Joseph, Gina, Mary, Lory, Bernadette, Rita and Madonna. Additionally, John leaves behind 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren – David, Anita, Erin, Bryan, Matthew, Nick, Madeline, Ethan, Shane and Zachary.

John was a loving father and grandfather who was known for his sense of humor, quick wit, generosity and charm. He will be greatly missed. John's ashes will be interred at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery, San Diego, with a memorial service being held in his honor later this year.

John J. Goulding joined NARFE on 5-1-1987. He was a regular chapter 706 member from the early 90's but became a non-voting member in 2013.
